We found that loosening the small crossbar helped the poles fit together properly, and then we simply tightened it back up. Once we figured that out, everything worked perfectly. This was super easy to put together as long as you’ve got some muscle available! Make sure you notice that it doesn’t come with the weighted bottom. The one in the photo was purchased additionally so just as a heads up.
