It’s safe to say the level of detail in the instruction manual is one of the best we have ever seen! And the organization of the parts was *chef’s kiss*. We put it together in just over 3 hours while also wrangling our young hyenas - I mean kids. We have built dressers and desks and tables and wayyy too many Hot Wheels tracks. They all prepared us for this experience. And this was far easier than we thought it would be. My husband was able to be the only one up on the ladder while I took the role of assistant and hyena wrangling. Pretty nice and sturdy. It comes in 7 boxes + box with screens and curtains if that’s the model purchased. I wish the assembly instructions were in box one and that the instructions told you where the hardware was, The instructions and hardware are in box 5. Make sure all parts are not damaged before starting assembly especially the key structure parts. Some of my louvers were dented but the didn’t effect my assembly. They were replaced, but it took a week to get the replacements. Wayfair and manufacturer were responsive and easy to deal with but it took time to get the replacement parts. Great looking pergola with easy to follow instructions. Took two adults about 7 hours to build with breaks in between. We also used the recommended expansion bolts to secure it to our cement patio. The wood is very soft so it does dent and scratch easily while we were building it but it doesnt look bad at all. The only issue we encountered was that several pre drilled holes for the top lattices were a bit off center. However we were able to correct. I love this pergola! I had been debating one for years and finally found one with all the features I wanted. We dont have any trees so theres no natural covering, and the backyard gets blasted with sun during the day. This pergola is perfect for manually adjusting the 4 different sections of louvers for the amount of sun wanted. We havent used the curtains or netting yet but I love having the option when needed. We paid for assembly which occurred over 3 days and 3 different crews. Caution- I dont recommend using the included anchors for anchoring to your base, unless your base is absolutely perfectly level. The product is excellent overall, though I'd be remiss to not include a few constructive criticisms: 1) The listing is misleading and does not make clear that the roller shades are NOT included and must be purchased separately. The cost of which essentially doubles the overall cost. 2) The installation instructions do not emphasize the importance of making sure the structural frame is installed straight, level, plumb, and that the distances between the vertical members is exact from top to bottom. The delivery was on time and placed where I wanted it. Be sure to have at least 3 people when connecting the legs to the beams. The directions were pretty vague when starting the first louver. I was missing 1 tapered locking bolt and 1 pillar cover but Maria at customer service was excellent in helping me get the missing parts. We have been wanting to get a pergola for so long, and have been hesitant to pull the trigger. I’m so glad we finally did! We are so pleased with this one! It was a bit of a process to put together, but not terrible. It took two people about 5 hours to finish, and the last few steps we needed three people. Overall it was relatively easy, just a lot of steps. The top shade is a bit transparent so you can still see out of it, which we like, and the drapes are thick so if you want to close them to block out that sun you can. We do plan to bolt it down to the concrete soon, just to ensure that it doesn’t move if we get wind gusts. Overall I definitely recommend this beautiful pergola!. Amanda. Edgewater, CO.
