Some of the louvers arrived with minor factory paint scratches. I reached out to Mirador for touch-up paint, but they don’t offer any. The good: We bought the 14x10 and it is heavy duty. I haven't fixed it to my deck yet, but I doubt that would even be necessary because it's heavy and sturdy. It gets 4 stars because I'm confident it will serve its purpose for a long time. The bad: I can't give it 5 stars because assembly was difficult, even with 2 people in their 30s. It took us a total of around 10-12 hours over a few days. When assembling the large/heavy support beams, you will probably need to have some kind of supporting table or shelf to lean them on (or have a person hold a large piece while someone affixes it to another) to prevent bending. You'll also need at least one step ladder and a Phillips head screwdriver, which the description fails to mention and isn't included. We recently purchased this pergola and overall we’re very happy with how it turned out. Once assembled, it looks beautiful and adds a nice focal point to our landscape bed. The design is attractive, and the size was perfect for creating a garden feature without overwhelming the space. Assembly was straightforward, and all of the parts were labeled well. The wood accepted stain nicely, which allowed us to customize the color to better match our porch and decking. (The lighter wood shown in some photos is the original factory color before staining.) The only reason I’m giving 4 instead of 5 stars is that several pieces arrived damaged from shipping. A few boards had broken ends and cracked sections around the pre-drilled holes. Fortunately, the damaged pieces were not structural components, and we were able to repair them with wood glue and still complete the build without needing replacement parts. Despite the shipping damage, the finished pergola feels sturdy, looks great, and was a good value for the price. If the manufacturer improved packaging and shipping protection, this would easily be a 5-star product. Overall, we’re pleased with the final result and look forward to training climbing plants over it for years to come.
