I am completely in love with this. I’m using it to give my bantam chickens, a safe place to be outside during the day it went together really easily. The only cons are the latches aren’t that great a raccoon could definitely open them so I’m gonna have to change that and I decided to put the roof on backwards so that I can open it above the roosting bar giving me access to the entire pen.. This is exactly what I needed. Two men put it together for me and it went together quickly. We are very to have a play area for our dog, a great space to work on training too since we live in the woods and fencing would be cost prohibitive. I love the cover since we live in the Pacific Northwest and rain is often in the forecast. We opted to put artificial grass down to prevent a muddy mess. The reason I am giving this 4 stars instead of 5 is because the entire kennel once assembled is actually light, the three of us could lift it easily to move it. The framework is seems sturdy but my helper’s recognized right away that with the winds where I live once the canopy is on it could, and probably would, become airborne, the pegs that come with it may be sufficient for some places but not here. They came up with a solution of 4 large landscaping boulders wired to the frame so it looks good and can still be hosed or blown out easily. I am hopeful that this will give us years of fun.. This heavy duty chicken coop provides comfortable, spacious and safe space for your poultry. The galvanized steel tubing used to construct the chicken coop greatly improves the coop's resistance to rust, is more stable to withstand winds up to 25, and lasts longer than other products. The walls of the coop are made of PVC coated hexagonal metal mesh, which is strong and resistant to damage. The chicken coop tarp is made of 160 grams of PE material, waterproof and UV resistant, and removable, allowing the animals to enjoy the warmth of the sun while avoiding rain, snow, and excessive UV rays. We are taking care of six refugee chickens who survived the Eaton Fire in Altadena California, on January 8th, for a family who found that their chickens miraculously survived, even though their home, their neighbors' homes, their block, and their neighborhood have been decimated, burned to the ground, and out of existence. We needed something quick and easy. This works well to protect the little miracle flock while they forage during the day. the coop does not appear to be sturdy enough to protect from predators without some modifications. The door worked before we put the chicken wire on, but with the chicken wire on, the latches won't latch, so we tie the door shut with some wire for now. We'll make some adjustments to make the door shut properly later. The chicken wire does not cover the top of the coop, or even all the way to the tarp in the front above the door. The tarp is also about 2" too short to be tied to the metal frame, so we tied it to the chicken wire for now. We plan to use something like a bungee cord to tie it to the frame without stressing the tarp to the point of ripping. One part of one of the door poles appears to be spray painted silver, so we have concerns that it will rust. It was pretty easy to assemble. My 64 year old husband took his time and put most of it together at a leisurely pace by himself in a few hours. I wandered on the scene a little later and helped a little, not that he needed it. The structure is light enough to move around the yard, which is what we wanted. One of us can drag it easily. Two of us can lift it very easily. It is not sturdy enough for feeders or waterers to be hung anywhere in this coop. I didn’t mind that because the price of this run was very reasonable. I wrapped the entire run in hardware cloth including underneath.
