While it did take some time to put together, the instructions were straightforward and everything fit together properly. The storage drawers are one of my favorite features. We are pretty happy with the platform bed. Very protected in the box. The instructions were only pics, which was easy to understand. This is the best idea ever, I love it! I was not thrilled about a dark color so I took fabric and glue gunned it all around the wood pieces after I assembled most of it, their was enough room to do this and it worked great. I used a soft upholstry fabric and also laid batting on the broad surfaces. The mechanism works great and does not shut unless you pull it down.
