We spray painted metal towers and covered shelves with white wood grain contact paper to lighten up this dark set. Quite easy to put together with two people with half stands propped on ottoman. Did put together top and bottom with holes facing wrong way and had to remove and flip one bottom tower so that joining screws found holes. Very wobbly and definitely anchored to wall on either side. This is a basic cube shelf. It’s attractive and assembly was straightforward. I wanted something that would tuck into the closet space in my hobby room. The finish has a wood-grain look - it’s not a smooth finish so just be aware. One star off because a couple of the cam locks wouldn’t tighten properly and keep falling out. It’s like the cam dowels aren’t long enough for the bolt to “grab” it. luv the versatility of this unit and the ability to add more sections down the road. also love the simple but elegant design, my only dislike was the fact that brown is no longer available, also the instructions indicate that you would need to screw the top shelving unit into the basedrawers. I dislike, putting wood screw holes in the base. They should of designed it where instead of using wood screws, you could use machine screws to take it apart without damaging the wood.. William.
