Assembly wasn't to difficult, but did take about 4 hours to put it together by myself. Hardest part was getting the bed slats that go under the mattress to line up with both sides of the frame to go into the holes, but once you figure it out it's smooth sailing. Overall, very solid and sturdy. Stairs are a nice touch over a ladder and the little shelf cubbies make a good place for small stuff. The space underneath is a perfect fit for a 78" couch. The quality of this bed is very sturdy but man…the build was intense. It look my husband and I 12 hours to get this thing built, although we did have to take off the ceiling fan and install a flush light during this time. This is a great bed. It was time-consuming to assemble but not hard or confusing. I love the stairs as opposed to a ladder because it’s much safer, and it also has the additional storage underneath the stairs. The desk is a good size and there are many outlets available for all different cords. The LED lights are really fun and they’re bright, but they do not stick very well, and I had to use almost all of the Velcro straps in order to secure the lights all around the bed. Amazing bed!! Putting it together definitely requires two people but it has very straightforward instructions. At a 140lbs I was able to climb on it and the bed was extremely sturdy. The bed looks great and feels sturdy once fully assembled. I love the extra storage space and how it maximizes room layout. However, my order was missing some parts, which was frustrating. Wayfair’s customer service was helpful, and they offered me a partial refund, but I still had to take the time to find and replace the parts myself. Overall, I’m happy with the purchase, but I recommend checking for all parts upon arrival. If everything had been included from the start, this would have been a perfect 5-star experience. We love this bed! It has everything my son wanted and needed. The only downside (which might just come with the design) is that the metal slide can be quite loud—similar to metal slides at a playground. When there are small bumps or bends in the slide, it makes a noticeable noise as you go down. When you receive the boxes containing the bed parts, don’t worry! It might seem overwhelming to receive three separate boxes, making you reconsider your bed choice. However, open them all up and organize them first it’ll make life much easier. My only criticism is that I wish every part was labeled, as it could make some parts questionable about their placement.
