The other reviews are true the panels chip very easy at the corners but it wasn’t a problem for us bc we wanted a black fireplace. It’s kind of silly we bought this to paint it BUT we loved the look just not the color we wanted plus it was on sale and other black fireplaces were over 1500 dollars so we saved 800 with a little labor.. This fireplace console will be placed upstairs in our master. We will place the cupboard shelves once we move it upstairs (you can see the shelves are in the bottom of the cupboards for now). This was about a medium difficulty assembly, with the fastening of the console to the iron legs the most difficult part. The fireplace insert was relatively easy. I’m rating this a 4, dinging it only for the minor damage to the top piece (as shown in several photos). It’s minor damage that likely won’t show from further away.
