This bed arrives in four separate packages. One of the boxes is over 80 lb and will require additional assistance to move for average homeowner. The side rails as well as footboard come fully assembled out of the box. The headboard requires the side legs to be attached but this process is very simple. The support rails for the bed are extremely flimsy and using this bed as a trundle will not allow you vertical support to stop the mattress from sagging in the middle over time. Dinged a star for that. The trundle portion comes in its own separate box of the four and requires complete assembly which is very straightforward. Two of the threaded nuts that come pre-installed were missing in the holes allowing me no way to attach screws so I had to get creative as this is something the average homeowner might struggle with. The cracked wood is my fault for not predrilling. As a bonus the side rails of the bed have the mattress supports glued prior to painting and I'm including photos of the lumps of glue which are not a big deal but nice to know that the rails are physically glued as well as screwed. The trundle face came with 2 dents but my kids will do way worse in time. I would recommend this bed as it can be used stand alone, with a trundle, with the rails lowered for easier access, and also used with an existing box spring and metal frame.. Justin. Loxahatchee. The bed is great! The only thing that was frustrating was that it was advertised as the lowest price and had a 24 hour window to get the offer so I took it. I found out two days later that the Bed went on sale for a lower price and when I contacted customer service, they were unwilling to match that price or even let me return the bed and get my money back and then order the Bed at the lower price.
