We are very satisfied with the Farmhouse Murphy Bed. The actual product is well represented online, including the color. It took my husband about 12 hours to assemble by himself. It would go a bit faster with a second person. There were a lot of pieces and he did follow the instructions which were well written. The only reason 4 vs 5 stars due to the following: assembly time (it still would take a while for 2 people to assemble) and the cabinet would look better with screw caps giving it a finished look. No one has slept on it yet, but assume it will be fairly comfortable for guests. We would have gone with a thicker mattress but followed the guidelines to make sure the cabinet would close. The slats seem to support the mattress. We hope the mattress does not slide around too much once someone tries to sleep on it. The bed does have to be weighted down to keep it from rising off the floor if no one is on the bed. See photos showing foot of bed not weighted down and weighted down with ankle weights. We plan to place a side table to offer a night stand. The small shelf looks a bit flimsy, so we will be cautious. I am not very tall and was able to open and close with ease. It works exactly how we expected it to. It does take quite a bit of time to set up. It has a lot of moving parts. However, it works very well stores into it extremely small space and the mattress is pretty comfortable. We bought a mattress topper for it and it will be perfect for our spare bedroom. The design is pretty cool. It’s only about 4 feet tall so it does look like a dresser in my studio. Having the charging station is pretty great, I wish that it had power on both sides, and I also wish that the plug was longer and flat because it forces me to push the unit away from the wall, which is not ideal on the small space but it does work and we ran and extension cord to make sure it can all work. Overall, for the sale price, this is an excellent piece and we hope to get a lot of use out of it! One last thing, like most inexpensive furniture, it’s not going to move houses well. Love how this bed turned out! It feels very sturdy and secure, easy to pull the bed down and it goes back up just as easy. The extra storage in the cabinets is a great bonus as our spare room is relatively small. The shelves are also adjustable with three different options for where to put the shelf. We left out the wine rack in favor of an open spot to put our Internet router. It definitely requires a minimum of two to three people to assemble and at least two days. This bed is not constructed of real wood as it states in the description. It is a fiberboard product. I paid extra for this bed because it said it was made from real wood. I was very dissatisfied to learn its fiberboard. I do not trust its durability with daily use as I intend to use it. I purchased the warranty to be on the safe side. Wayfair refunded me a part of my purchase price but still not enough to make up for discrepancy. I had it assembled by a professional. Comes in 4 boxes, received 2 on one day the other 2 the next day. Really nice set, pretty happy with it. Couple of extras that we are doing to it, the brackets to hold the frame to the wall can be seen when bed is down just going to paint them white to make it less noticeable. The barrel of the hinge for the shelf can be seen when the bed is in the up postion. Definitely need to support the bed frame to the wall and into the studds a must. Only complaint would be that the screws that come with the set be white because the all can be seen. We put small white dots on them to cover them, looks much better.. Susan. Reading, PA.
