This mattress pad is just what we needed for our new Queen size bed! Yes our bed is new, it’s a replacement for a pillow top mattress that we brought. The pillow top was terrible for my husband’s back, so we exchanged it for one we thought would work out better, It didn’t! So we thought we’d try a mattress pad before resorting to returning the new mattress. We opened it up and let it expand. It didn’t look that thick so we weren’t sure it would work.
