Like most reviewers, this mat is not the thickest. We need to put it on our padded area rug to sleep on it overnight, but it's great for watching tv beside my little dog, who isn't allowed on our sofa. This floor mattress is pretty comfortable considering it is only 4 and on the floor. It did not come shrink wrapped, but it seemed way too flat at first I let it air out before making a review. At first, it was only 2 inches, but after a few days out of the plastic wrapping it came in, it is decidedly 4. I guess it was flattened during packaging. Love the mattress - but horrible experience with the delivery and Wayfair follow-up. Fed Ex delivered to the wrong city/address, after much follow-up with Fed Ex and Wayfair, I received a shipment with the wrong size mattress. After additional follow-up with Wayfair, I finally received the correct item. The time I had to spend was way too much, and Wayfair did not provide sufficient support and customer service.
