I really like these lamps! They’re different and whimsical and add character to our living room. I like the fact that you can just turn on the base, the lightbulb under the lamp, or both. It also has an option to charge a device. The on-off switches on the base. But if you want both lights on, you have to twist near the lightbulb. The reason for four stars is, the lamps I really light and can easily be knocked over and top easily when you’re trying to turn them on and off at the base but other than that, they are a keeper. These lamps are nice! It’s the first time ever that I am pleased with a lamp shade which I had to assemble at home. Shades were packed so that they had no creases and the linen weave fabric is nice and heavy. So when I attached the Velcro, the rings clipped in snugly and you can’t tell it isn’t a pre-assembled shade. The “night light” feature in the base of the is fairly bright, but not as bright as the 60W bulb. I like that I can charge my cell phone in the lamp base, but the night light flickers when I plug in my phone I’ve decided it doesn’t bother me because I can easily work around that issue. The switch is a rotary type. The shades were easy to assemble, but the metal rings are not covered like they would be in a pre-assembled shade. These lamps look as if they would cost twice as much as Wayfair's price. They are really elegant and add a real feel of classy detail to what is truly a kind of bland room. The shades were a bit tricky for me to make ready to mount on a traditional harp device. They used two shaping hoops, one for the bottom of the shade and one for the top. Assembly guides today seem to me to be a bit of poorly translated English.
