I recently purchased the Ophelia Solid Wood Platform Bed in the Chalk finish (King size) and I couldn’t be happier. This bed is everything I wanted and more. My biggest complaint is that the wood tone was noticeably warmer and redder in person than shown in the listing photos. I expected a cooler, darker espresso finish based on the pictures online. The actual color still looks nice, but it wasn’t what I anticipated. Assembly was manageable, though I was disappointed that the side rails are made in separate sections that connect together rather than being one continuous solid rail. This design makes the frame feel a bit less sturdy than I expected and contributes to a slightly flimsy feel in certain areas. That said, once fully assembled, the bed looks elegant and functions well. If you’re considering this bed, I’d recommend expecting some variation in color and understanding that the construction prioritizes shipping and assembly convenience over heavy-duty solidity. Love the look of this bed. Took a chance bc there were no reviews. The bed delivered in about 5 days. The packing wasn’t the best, but everything was intact and undamaged inside the box. Quality is fair, not exceptional. Upholstery is only on the outside of the bed, not behind the headboard, footboard or rails. Bed is assembled with bolts that are visible on the footboard which I don’t like. The fabric is linen and on the lighter side, not yellowish or grey. Hammered features are a nice contrast to the conventional upholstered bed design. Bed can be mixed with contemporary furniture or antiquish, like I have. All in all, I’d recommend. I saw the Welling bedroom set and I just had to have it. I have looked at sets for years, but this was the one!! It is a very detailed set with a French style front, English back and with a Bombay curved shape. It is truly a luxurious and stunning design. It is oversized furniture so it takes up a fair amount of room. The top drawer in each piece is lined with felt. It has side metal drawer glides, scrolled legs with carvings, and antique pull-ring handles. The drawers have dovetailed drawers for sturdiness. Now for the Bed…. They were out of the Welling Brand Bed so I saw that this Glendo was the same bed so I ordered it. I wanted to explain the positives of the set at the beginning of the review. This vintage bedroom set really makes a statement and this bed is the piece de resistance of the set. The bed has an arched headboard with beautiful carved wood designs around the edges. The wood is scored and rubbed to give it a distressed look. The footboard dips downward instead of arching and has the same floral carvings. On both there is beautiful button tufting with upholstery material that is an antique white color polyester blend. It is a fair amount of work to assemble the bed so you definitely need 2-3 people to get it accomplished. You will need a box spring and mattress for this set. There is an 8” clearance under the bed. The overall weight capacity is 650 lb. for the king size bed. The Headboard is 88.98” W x 89.25” L and the Footboard height is 30.24”. The overall height is 75.6” and it weighs 220 lbs. The footboard had a scrape and 2 areas lacking in paint. So Wayfair offered to replace it or give a 20% discount. They are very good with their customer service! We needed a replacement specifically to accommodate a new adjustable base, since our old bed wasn’t compatible. We absolutely loved our previous bed and hoped to find something that wouldn’t completely compromise on style, as so many adjustable base-friendly designs tend to look cookie cutter and uninspired. We took a leap of faith ordering this bed, not fully sure it would work, but it turned out to be a good match with our existing side tables and dresser. The metal isn’t super thick, but it is sturdy enough and the price point reflects this. Assembly was easy, two of us put it together without any trouble, thanks to straightforward instructions. All in all, we’re pleased with how everything came together and would definitely recommend this bed to anyone looking for a bed that will be compatible with an adjustable base.. Diana. Texas.
