Here is a beautiful sturdy bed frame—exactly what I wanted. And I am so happy with this Red Barrel Studio platform bed from Wayfair. Got the king size in Beige. Color is slightly more yellow than in display photo, which appears more greige. Putting the drawers together was definitely tricky and you can't open drawers further back on the side if you have nightstands. But other than it works great and will be ok for the meantime.. Lily. This is the best idea ever, I love it! I used a soft upholstry fabric and also laid batting on the broad surfaces. The mechanism works great and does not shut unless you pull it down. I purchased the queen-size version and also paid for a person through Wayfair to bring the box upstairs and install it. I have slept on the bed for 3 weeks and so far the bed exceeds my expectations. It is beautiful and feels heavy and stable. It does not squeak or move around. I placed the bed on the carpet and the drawers still move in and out easily. Drawers are made of solid wood. I have had other similar beds where the drawers are made of plastic. I am glad that I paid someone to install it because it took a pro more than an hour.
