I purchased this solid wood kitchen island through Wayfair Products Verified, and honestly I thought it was going to be a nightmare to assemble because of all the rails, drawers, and amount of pieces included. Surprisingly, it was actually pretty easy to put together. The pre-made holes were perfectly aligned and all the instructions were very clear. I had seen some reviews saying the assembly process was terrible, but that wasn’t my experience at all. I think this has been the biggest furniture project I’ve done because of the number of pieces, but overall the process was smooth and easy to follow. I’m definitely not disappointed with this purchase. My only concern is the back panel of the island since it feels super thin compared to the rest of the structure. I purchased this island to use in my craft room. Like all RTA furniture, it was a process to put together-this is shipped as a flat box shipment; nothing is pre-assembled. The quality is as it should be for the price point. The reason for a 4-star rating is I have not really started using it but it appears it is going to serve the purpose for which I intended…more counter space, room for my granddaughters to join me in craft-making, and not overly big.. In reality, the back has white clips or brackets that are not pleasant to look at. Makes the unit look unfinished. Is there something we can do about it. This is a nice kitchen island once assembled. Very spacious and has good counter space. There are 5 wheels so it can be easily moved around. The instructions and assembly were not easy. The pictures of the boards were not exactly the same as the boards so holes were in slightly different spots making it difficult at times to decipher where a screw should be. There was one large piece that was not pre drilled correctly in one spot. The material is very soft so you’ll have to be gentle when screwing screws in or it will start cracking or breaking.. Amanda. The island did have one flaw a chip out of the top corner of the table and someone from the factory or warehouse colored it in with marker. It was small but very noticeable. This island is exactly what ive been looking for. Unlike many others I have seen this one has the bonus of being double sided so there is a lot of storage space. The drop leaves on each end make it perfect for narrower kitchens and it is a fairly easy build if you are experienced with building flat packs. The instructions say its a two person build but I did it by myself in about five hours, you just need to think outside the box when it comes to some of the more fiddly pieces. I was hesitant to buy this since a large amount of reviews on here said it was difficult to put together. As long as you follow the instructions and use common sense, it is fairly simple to do by yourself. Took me about 4 hours but it was so worth the time! And oooh, the color. Whats not to love⁉️ I also chose assembly which was worth every penny. Forget getting somebody who knows somebody. This was done expertly in about 2 hours, give or take. Ive seen reviews from folks who struggled for hours - lots of parts, lots of screws.
