You get what you pay for. It’s obviously cheap and a couple bumps putting it together. Took my husband I about 2 hours. Only had to undo and redo one part because we weren’t paying close enough attention. Cracked one molding from hammering a peg in. That was a bummer. It has two shelves, two sliding doors, charging station, and cool LED lighting. This piece has a nice black finish and is freestanding. In addition, you have the top of the headboard to place pics and such on. Assembly did take longer than I expected but when done and set up, it looked great and she loves it. Love it! We purchased the king-size, black option. No shipping issues, delays or damage with our delivery. It is much lighter weight than it looks from the pictures, but it still feels substantial. Easy to assemble with the included hex wrench. It is just over 50 inches tall when adjusted to its tallest position (which is the height we chose). It is not suitable to be mounted to a wall, but we have a split king adjustable bed so we couldn't attach it to the bed frame. We engineered a way to attach it to the wall securely (4- 1x4 boards painted the wall color, and screwed into the wall studs and then the headboard attached securely to the boards using 4 painted conduit clamps). The bed just sits in front of the headboard, but is not connected. One picture shows the headboard secured to the wall. We really like the look, and feel it is a great value.. P. California. I like this head board because I enjoy rustic or farm house furniture. It said it was black antiqued metal. The black metal had scratches that showed white through the black.
