We've used our gas log set for the 2nd time tonight, and we love it! It was harder to install than I thought it would be, because (since I've never owned a set before) I wasn't aware it had it's own grate/pan with it's own gas pipe that connects to the natural gas outlet in our fireplace. A little frustrating since the gas pipe comes fixed on the right and our fireplace gas hookups come in from the left side, but we switched it around and once it's all set up it looks great and very worth it! When the fire is lit it looks very natural and beautiful. The concrete logs are very solid and durable, and will last a very long time. The way the logs are arranged are very nice. The glowing embers/vermiculite look very natural when lit. Came with the perfect amount of everything. I bought a gas log set because we burned real wood in the fireplace all last winter and the ash/smoke gave me allergies. Gas logs may emit some chemicals, but it's worth it not to have to clean up ash and stuff up my nose! (Also to note, the set smelled slightly the first night we lit it, but no smell the 2nd night).
