Overall, I absolutely love this desk! It did arrive with a few minor issues that Wayfair rectified. This is a solid piece of furniture. I would definitely recommend paying for the delivery and setup. The two compartments on the top lift up to open but sadly they do not lock in place to remain open, which could be a little inconvenient but there is a slow close on it so it does not slam closed. **TIP** there is a piece that covers the top so you can possibly sit items up there that is probably some type of mdf board and it probably blends in with the packaging and mine was thrown out, so just be mindful and ask for that piece. That is the only reason for the four stars.. Taji. Nanuet, NY. Fri Jun 19 2026

The 60" Samuel Writing Desk from Red Barrel Studio is the best product I have ever assembled! I am almost 60 years old, and have assembled a lot of bookshelves, beds, sofas, end tables, and desks over the years. This is a solid desk, sturdy, beautiful, and well- constructed. It took me, literally, 10 minutes to put together--8 screws, 16 washers, and a wrench included! This desk is going to last a long time. Highly recommended!. Tim A.. Austin, Texas. Sat Apr 18 2026
