It took about 4 hours from box cutting to finish, directions were easy to follow, only had to backtrack once or twice to make sense of something that could have gone 2 ways (the rails). It folds out easily for one person, there is a drawer for pillows/blankets/sheets, and we got a 6" tri-fold memory foam mattress the folds right into the cabinet spot. It is beautiful and feels heavy and stable. It does not squeak or move around. I placed the bed on the carpet and the drawers still move in and out easily. Drawers are made of solid wood. I have had other similar beds where the drawers are made of plastic. I am glad that I paid someone to install it because it took a pro more than an hour. Bed quite sturdy. Took me a couple hours to put together. Being all metal, it went together easily. I thought I was going to have to screw in each individual mattress support but they simply slip into a snug fitting. The bed is lower than my previous bed since it does not require a box spring but it supports my mattress well and does not make any structural sound. No wobble or noise comes from the bed when I lie down. I thought I'd might be able to use my box spring but it would have been too high and covered up the headboard shelf. The shelf outlet works well but the self adhesive strip light is already falling. I'll have to secure it again. The lower drawers are lightweight but put together nicely and slide easily under the bed. Probably too easily.. oh, there is no backboard for the shelf area so be careful when placing item on it. We also appreciate the drawers being on casters so that it’s easy to move them out to vacuum under the bed. I have a few minor gripes: figuring out the placement of the slats was awkward (it has improved from an earlier version of a similar bed, where each slat had to be screwed in; this one is easier). It would help to have guide marks on the frame as to where the slats should go. When the bed is finished, screws on the headboard are visible above the pillow. I don’t know why they’re not facing the back of the headboard. Lastly, I wish there were a cover for the drawers so that the things stored inside don’t get easily dusty. Decent bed. Feels sturdy enough I was able to put it together alone, but it took about 8 hours going at a slow pace with lots of breaks. Get a kneepad if you have one. Be sure to look at both sides of each piece immediately after you attach to make sure you have the right orientation. I found a backwards one twice and it was a considerable setback. The directions could be confusing at times, generally just sitting and staring at the parts for a bit or looking ahead to next few steps would made it clear. I'm giving it a 4 star review be use a received 3 unlabeled parts, luckily I could narrow them down. And because the pull out shelfs cannot be wheeled out , at least if you have carpet, and are a very tight fit. Photo attached shows why. The bottom of the shelf sides touches the ground and makes the wheels pointless. I will likely use them in the closet instead. The storage drawers are a little awkward to use. I struggle get the hook lined up and set in the slot to close them. Do not recommend if you have a bad back or mobility issues. The light is great if you like a bit of a night light.. M. Madison, WI.
