Very happy with the bed. Looks great in our guest room. It is not as bright/reddish orange color as pictured but more brown but beautiful. It is very well made, solid wood and easy to put up but HEAVY. We did the white glove delivery and glad we did. You have two options on the bed rails. In standard position the part your mattress, springs etc sit on is 8" from the floor. You can flip the rails and the part it sits on is now 13" from the floor. We have gone with that option and using a solid support system (plywood or bunkie board) rather than the slats. This eliminates the need for box springs. With a 14.5 inch mattress the height from the floor is now 28 inches (add 1/2 inch for support system) and comes just above (by about 3 inches) the bottom of the solid part of headboard leaving no gap for your pillows, remotes, etc to slide through. The cedar Log Bed was worth the wait. It is like a funtional piece of art. Please note for assembly you will need a large 15/16" socket & ratchet. Four 30 7A screws are entered into the logs. All of our Cedar Log Furniture is crafted using northern white cedar. We harvest our cedar locally from its Minnesota location. We even operate our cedar sawmill that produces lumber for our furniture! Northern white cedar is extremely light and quite soft but boasts excellent decay resistance and strength despite these characteristics. Cedar Log is our most complete collection and one of our most popular lines of furniture. Seeing as we have more than 25 years of experience building it, we have it down to a science – as such, no one can boast a more solidly-built, beautiful natural log furniture.
