If you want your footboard taller than your mattress then this bed is not for you. My 10 inch mattress sits a few inches above the footboard. However, it doesn’t bother me. Absolutely beautiful in person. Very easy to build, took me about an hour before work. Used in my son’s room. The blue is a wonderful shade suitable for boys and girls. It’s also pretty sturdy once built, especially for the price point. I lay down on it frequently with my son and it handles the weight.
