The trash can looks nice and that's all it has going for it. The sensor is not as sensitive as it should be to pickup motion and to stay open while dumping trash into it. The lid closes very shortly after you wave to open it but needs close proximity to the sensor to detect for open. There are times it would not open until you were about 2 inches from it. The lid also stayed open if your hand was in it and the sensor did not detect your movement while dumping until you waved over the sensor again. I would not recommend this trash can.. Michael. I love that the garbage is not exposed in the bathroom. I love automatically garbage cans. The main reason I bought it wasn’t to keep my kitty from pulling sanitary napkins, and used baby wipes out the garbage lol. It takes 3C batteries.. Just received this trash bin, so I can only share my first impressions. I purchased the 16 gallon size, which is very large but it's still a pretty compact trash bin. I like it a lot. It arrived well packaged with no damage, it's nice looking and works very well and I think it is a good value for less than $100. It actually might work a little too well, sometimes the top opens up just from my walking by a little too close. But that's not really a problem. It is nearly silent and I like the butterfly opening a lot. I can't speak about durability since I just got it. But based on first impression, I absolutely recommend purchasing this trash bin.. Gene.
