Works fine, I did not realize it was plastic. My fault, I thought it was metal did not read the specs. Even though it is plastic, it does not look cheap. This is a great trash can. It has 2 pieces as shown in the picture. You can wrap your trash bag ober the inside piece, and when it's covered with the outside piece it will stay in place.
