I purchased the 3" Slumber Solutions Reversible Cooling Gel Memory Foam. After sleeping on it for a few weeks, I wish I had purchased the 2" one. It is on an old mattress that was firm originally so with age it was a bit harder. I went with the Cooling Gel rather than a standard egg-crate one expecting it to now be so hot. It does seem to be a bit warm but not horrible. I can turn the over head fan on and I am fine. This will ultimately be a guest room. It is on the bed with the egg crate down to give more support (at least that what descriptions say). It may be cooler with the egg crate side up. I let it air out for a week while we were out-of-town. No strange odors when opened and was fairly expanded. This does fit under the fitted sheet so there is not much movement of the topper. Since it is the 3", it has taken some time to get used to the extra height around the edges of the bed. Overall a good topper and I am pleased with my purchase.. Margaret. Silver Spring, MD.
