Well I have it out of the box the reason for this purchase was I have tall ceilings and I needed a exhaust fan that I didn’t have to figure out how to get additional pieces or have to build down from the ceiling to close the gap. This fan assembly fit that bill it’s also a rental property and so I didn’t want a glass unit even though I have one like that and like it a lot this unit is more “renter friendly” and safe no ones going to break it.. Well this is a great product but putting it together was a lot! The instructions were hidden along with the screws necessary for installation. Great upgrade to my older unit , lots more power and suction on fan , better led lighting, very well made unit, 3 different ways to control unit , wage hind in front of sensors to turn on fan and change speeds , use buttons on front of either side of unit or use the remote control. This is a work in progress. I’m so far very happy with the quality of this range hood. The look is what attracted me to it. I wanted something modern but not too common. I will need to follow up with more pics after is fully installed. It is quite heavy so I’m reinforcing my ceiling just to make sure it is very secure. I am very happy with this hood. The quality of build seems solid, installation instructions were very clear, and it I think it looks great. It takes some planning and work to get it installed. You have to make sure your ceiling joists and ductwork is going the right direction or be prepared to do some modifications. I have a soffit and had to take down a bunch of drywall to modify the framing, run the 14/3 romex for the light/fan and modify the ducting. Then I replaced the drywall, taped, texture, paint and installed the hood. Fortunately it all came together nicely. I was able to held the hood in place while my wife drive the screws into the framing. I think it will be worth it in the end because the hood won’t be blocking the view in front of our cooktop.. Amazing range hood! Not easy to install, we actually still were sweating trying to get it secured in with four people involved. The instructions say at least two people, but I would get more people helping! It understandably took us a long time, but it is very sturdy. We have just short of 8 ft ceilings, and wanted it about 30” over the stovetop, so we also had to cut the two covers for the top portion. Get a metal cutting wheel and grinder, it was definitely not a job for someone who doesn’t have experience doing that, but you could cut it a different way if needed. Not necessary to alter like that though for taller ceilings, or lower placements. Installation aside, this range hood works beautifully and is strong even on its lowest setting. The lights are not blinding, and it’s nice having just buttons for control on both sides. Absolutely would recommend, for anyone who has the right help to install! I’ve been really happy with this range hood so far. The stainless steel and curved glass design looks very modern and gives the kitchen a nice updated look. It feels well made and doesn’t look bulky above the stove. The suction is strong and does a great job pulling out smoke, steam, and cooking smells, especially when frying or cooking on multiple burners. I really like having 8 fan speeds because I can keep it low for normal cooking and turn it up when I need more ventilation. The touch controls are responsive and easy to understand, and the gesture control is a nice feature when my hands are messy from cooking. The LED lights are also bright enough to clearly see the entire cooktop at night. Another feature I appreciate is the delay shutoff, so I can leave the fan running for a little while after I’m finished cooking without having to come back and turn it off. I would NOT purchase this item. It had no company information or identifying information on the product or box. There was no manual for installing or using the product in the box. Wayfair now has a link to a manual, but when clicked on it says, "File not found". When I reached out to Wayfair, the manual they sent did not match the hood fan, which took more than 48 hours, which is the window of most items to be returned. As I hired a professional to install the item, they could not review the item and manual together. I tried to find out information from Terisitar, but could not find any corporate information, so it is not clear who manufactures this item. Furthermore, when the item was delivered the box was so battered, despite having “FRAGILE” written very boldly.
