Replaced an older downdraft system from the 90s, this unit was best for me because beneath the countertop, the motor can be movedpositioned either in front of or behind the unit. It rises much taller than my previous unit and seems to have decent strength, although of course, nothing will compare to a hood mounted above the cooktop.. Elizabeth. NY. Wed Jan 21 2026

Great downdraft vent! Rises high enough to pull most smoke and steam away from all pans, much of it from the front burners, but the back burners are a no-brainer - nothing escapes, especially when the fan is turned to high. Fan control is smoothly variable from almost silent to roaring hurricane strength. Recommend that you use a large diameter vent to the outside to prevent back pressure (we have a 6" adapted down at the fan). The up/down limit switch is easily adjustable, and is covered when adjustment is finalized, so (kids) cannot tweak it for us. Great purchase and we are very happy with it.. James. Orefield, PA. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] love the 800 Series downdraft we paired wiht our Bosch Induction cooktop. When not in use it is flush with the stovetop which helps create a flat seamless flow on the countertop. When we have used it, it works very well. The unit was compatible with the exhaust vent from our old Jenn-Air cook top. Highly recommend this downdraft. Iras. Thu Nov 13 2025

The Scirocco Lux downdraft hood is positioned next to the cooktop to ensure efficient extraction. The integrated LED light bar illuminates the cooking area, enhancing visibility and convenience. The Scirocco Lux features a reversible motor box, allowing it to fit seamlessly behind a range top, cooktop, or cooktop/oven combo. This is ideal for island installations where an overhead canopy would be obstructive or wall installations where cabinet space is at a premium.
