Wow oh wow! Dualit toaster, how do I love thee, let me count the ways! Toast will never be the same for me. Amazing, you get consistent browning all the time. This one heck a great sturdy toaster, unlike what a lot of reviewers said, you can toast large slices of bread... only very large oval rye bread types will be too large for this toaster. This toaster will toast bagels, again only oversized will not fit this toaster. So, to sum up, this toaster is built like a sherman tank, a true work horse, built to last and looks nice in the kitchen in a 50's retro way. Also, I got the sandwich cage, which is nice for quarter slices of a bagel or small toasted Oat cakes I get from Scotland. Nice because the Oat cakes are easier to retrieve with the sandwich cage. This toaster is wonderful. I always thought a toaster was just a toaster. But,t his one has all the bells and whistles and it is well worth it. We love toasted bagels, and this toaster toasts the inside perfectly, yet leaves the outside chewy like it should be. We love the defrost feature which thaws out a waffle or toaster pastry before it actually toasts it. No more days of black crusty waffles on the outside that are still cold and rock hard in the center. We have owned our Breville CT70XL Ikon 2-Slice Toaster for nearly a year. It works flawlessly and once you evaluate what level of toasting fits the type of "toastable" that you're inserting into the machine, you end up with a perfect result every time. The toaster automatically "sleeps" itself when not in use and the buttons and handles are very solid and well made.
