I had an older brand name toaster for more than a decade. It worked fine, but when I saw this beautiful toaster, I just had to have it. It’s really like a piece of jewelry for your kitchen. Before I got it, I looked at other Haden toasters and really loved the look of this gold/cream one the best, which apparently is exclusive to Wayfair. When I pulled it out of the box I was slightly surprised that it didn’t seem to weigh as much as my old toaster. If it had been any lighter, it might’ve felt flimsy but it wasn’t. One thing that perplexed me is the bottom, which seems to have hooks for the electrical cord, but it doesn’t wrap around them properly. Still a mystery. I absolutely love the look of it on my countertop. Beware that the first time you use it, it will off-gas. My English muffins were fully toasted when the dial—which has a nice soft, smooth click—was set at “3”. The “Cancel” button has a bright white light that is illuminated when you push down the handle, which feels smooth going down.
