The set of replacement bar stools was in perfect condition! I love the chairs, but I will admit that I have to get used to the fact that they do not automatically return to their original position when you stand up! However, the first set of chairs I received were obviously returned by a previous customer; they had been partially unwrapped with hardware removed and loose in the box, and there was a large dent in the back of one of the chairs. In addition, the stain on both seats was not applied correctly and visibly damaged. Very nice looking counter stools. They seem very sturdy and are comfortable. I took a star off only because the fabric is not quite tight enough and I find I am smoothing out a little wrinkle now and then but I don't think most would find it a dealbreaker. Also, there were a couple of flaws (scratches or little gouges) in the wood on the side of one seat but they are not easily seen and I think with a little bit of sandpaper it will be gone.
