"Hi Chip, This product does not require the box spring but you may use one if you like. If you use a box spring, it does look better if the mattress and box spring combination do not exceed 12" H as it may look out of proportion if it is too high. It is really a matter of personal preference and is not a safety issue."

"Hi Oliver. The Nevis accessories seem to have more of a reddish tint to them but they are all finished in the Espresso colour. The Nevis accessories were made to go with the Riva bed so I don't believe that the colour difference will be that noticeable."

The only issues I had with t he bed is the center board. Having to line it under the slats, was difficult, as thr pre-drill holes did not line up. Have plenty of time to put this bed together. It arrived un-damaged, no parts missing (had extra parts included), was very simple to assemble (under one hour) then we decided to paint the bedroom and bathroom (2 different shades), and it was VERY EASY to move (with no damage done while moving to and fro). I am just SO OVERLY PLEASED with my purchase Im ESTATIC! The headboard with the darker shade of paint on the headboard wall looks awesome with the color of the bed! I just cannot tell you how happy, happy, happy I am with this bed. I am looking to purchase another (different size) for a guest bedroom in the VERY NEAR FUTURE (hoping I can get that bit of a discount)! You will not be disappointed with this bed. Good and sturdy, goes together perfectly just absolutely SMASHING! Very contemporary - and goes great with shabby sheek! Enjoy your new bed! Service Review The free shipping was worth the wait, however, the carrier that was to deliver the bed once in arrived in my area was very difficult to deal with. So we had to go down and pick it up and bring it home ourselves. But that is OK. When I purchase another one, I will do it the same way. The middle set of legs are quite flimsy and tend to fall over unless you add a few extra screws. It doesn't budge when I lie on it and doesn't make a sound. It's a very good looking bed.
