I did verify the lighter color, which was similar to a maple shade and was assured that it would be that color. The rattan color that was delivered is much darker... more like a mahogany color. I have been trying to figure out how to put a piece of plastic or metal on it - stylishly, of course! Also - I think it's GREAT that it only swivels when you are seated.
