Surprisingly sturdy- it was easy and straightforward to assemble it, I didn’t use their tools but my own to make a quicker set up. The only tricky part was trying to assemble it on top of the gate which is a little bit hard to line up and secure but once it was on - I think it will hold, this could be a great cover for chickens too but I’m using it for the horses and hope they will use it. Overall really like this shade structure. Assembly says it takes 4 people and absolutely did that at least 4 people for the part where the main structure frame was put together. Together than that step it was a one to 2 person job. Only giving 4 stars for 2 reasons 1. Directions were VERY unclear at times. Pay attention to the main postsdirections of holes. Definitely helped to lay it all out on the ground before assembly. 2. The cross beams could be more sturdy and the wood overall is softish. Love how it transformed out back space. This is defiantly a two to three man assembly project. We are waiting for the permit to be granted for. Concrete patio addition. The goal is to use this in a corner for lounging or even a BBQ cover this coming fallwinter. My contractor helped me carry this box and open it. He was shocked by the quality of the metal. I like it! I did 90% of the assembly alone. You need help putting on legs. Putting on snow load supports is a little tricky alone, they are tight. I only attached 8 bunges cords before I put on legs so I could work in the shade. I had to stand on a step stool for sides and used a 6' ladder for peaks. I live on the coast so I used 12 tie downs. The standard 8 (one I had to just go straight down, no room) and 2 each in the interior front and back. I used screw in type supports and 550 paracord and cinch knotted on the inside supports. I used 1/8" wire and turnbuckles on outside supports. I put 1 1/2" PVC over exteror supports to protect people and pets from running into/hurting themselves. I also think it will be easier for yard trimmer. I would love to say it took me 3 hours but in reality it took me most of the day.
