So I already had a dog food storage container but I was only 35 quart and I needed something just a little bigger to hold the full bag of dog food. Which this does so it says it holds 35 pounds, but it actually holds more than that. So I would say at least holds a good 40 pound bag and the scooper. It seems to be pretty rugged. I bought a 3 lb bag of yellow onions( anticipated the arrival of its new “ home”. A total of 7 onions- minus the 1 I had to cut up use before the bag came.
