The mantel is beautiful and the quality is good. But the installation is challenging for our fireplace. We have to use the 6 inches length screws to secure the base wood before hanging it up. True to color. Overall, happy with how it turned out. Main flaw was that the mantel wasn’t level. We had a hard time hanging it to look right. Other flaw (that I was aware of when I purchased due to another review) is that you can tell when viewing from top and bottom that it is not one beam. We chose this for the color as it was the best match to what we wanted to do with the stone we are placing. Plus it states it can take the heat which is a great bonus. Although hanging at the correct distances away from the heat it gives an added security it won't get overly hot. The mantle has striations/lines within and not a uniform color which I really like it (see photo of mantle side) and it adds to the overall look. Great quality, easy to hang and light weight while looking substantial. I have enclosed a photo of the stone we are using although we have not started that project yet.
