This is the 5th time I have bought one of these under rugs in the past 8 years so you know I like them. They are pretty simple, do not leave a residue, help with noise suppression, and keep the rugs in place. My only note is that they have been too large for the corresponding rugs (you would think an 8 x 10 rug and an 8 x 10 pad would be the same size but no) so my only advice is that you examine your rug’s dimensions very carefully when buying or be prepared to cut the pad down to size. I bought this 3' x 5' rug pad to try to get my area rug to stop inching it's way across my hall carpet. I received it in the time specified and it was as described on the web site. When I opened it there was no odor coming from the pad. I didn't have to cut it which was nice. After vacuuming both carpets I placed the pad between the carpet and the area rug. I had to look up how to put the pad - felt side down toward the carpet and rubber side against the area rug. A quick set-up sheet would have saved me some time and effort. The pad has added some cushion which makes it nicer to walk on. As for the traveling area rug, it has slowed down and only moves a centimeter or so a day.
