I bought this 3' x 5' rug pad to try to get my area rug to stop inching it's way across my hall carpet. I received it in the time specified and it was as described on the web site. When I opened it there was no odor coming from the pad. I didn't have to cut it which was nice. After vacuuming both carpets I placed the pad between the carpet and the area rug. I had to look up how to put the pad - felt side down toward the carpet and rubber side against the area rug. A quick set-up sheet would have saved me some time and effort. The pad has added some cushion which makes it nicer to walk on. As for the traveling area rug, it has slowed down and only moves a centimeter or so a day. The product is made of two different polyester fibers needle-punched together and coated, on both sides, with a specially formulated water-based, pressure-sensitive dry adhesive that will outperform pads coated with a plain polymeric-acrylic resin.  ALTHROPs two components, containing 12 ounces of fiber per square yard, gives the pad enough body and density to resist the horizontal movement that creates the buckling effect of the underlay under the rug.
