I installed this across my front porch. I have a Shih Tzu who thinks that when the front door is open it means she can run down the street and visit the neighbors. I needed something that could be installed easily and had a gate. This fence is perfect for this purpose. People can come and go without letting my girl out. It's been up for almost a year now and it has worked beautifully! We had to take it out when the front porch had some work done but you couldn't tell it had ever been moved. Super easy to assemble, (I even cut the tie off that was clearly marked DO NOT CUT), but it worked out fine. This gate is very strong and well made, looks nice, and is very easy to open. Couldn't be happier. NOTE: I was not able to install this where I originally wanted, one wall was slanted on a 45 degree and the other was square. The way it looks to me you need a flat surface for the pressure mounts to work properly on a flat wall. They do provide railing mounts for stair banisters. I had to put a dog down, in February. In March, my boxer/Australian shepherd mix, decided to start jumping the baby gate, that keeps her in back room (at night and while we are gone). My couches will never be the same. I couldn't scold her because I never caught her in the act. I needed a solution to keep her in the back room, with our other 2 dogs. After searching, literally, everywhere, I found this gate. I was skeptical. It is TALL, taller than the "tall", other places had. It screws in wall, no more paint coming off when I need to get through. The door is so convenient, could be a little wider, I have to turn sideways to walk through. This baby gate was absolutely perfect for our needs!!! Reasons we love it: (1) it's super easy to install, (2) it mounts to the wall instead of just using the tension rounds (so, more secure), (3) it is adjustable in its width and because we have a 100+ y/o home it has some irregular measurements so this was a key feature for us, (4) it swings flush with the wall so it stays out of the way if we want to keep it open during baby's nap times, and (5) the latch is easy enough for an adult to manage (and with one hand!), but requires two pressure points which we felt would be more difficult for a child to figure out / handle.
