I do love the design of this gate. It’s so tall that my kitties can’t go over, around, through, or under. I even like the way it opens to let me go through, without having to negotiate a bottom rail to trip on. It locks securely and was easily assembled and carefully packed. It’s attractive and exceptionally useful. My only concerns: My doorway was not true. It apparently is a few millimeters wider near the top than bottom, so the center doesn’t meet the same way in the top as bottom. This is not the fault of the gate, so I did not deduct a star. My other concern is that there’s a lot of plastic parts. I wish all the components were made of metal. I was very excited to receive this cat door but it definitely does NOT fit a 37.4" wide opening. My opening is exactly 37" and the gate width is over 2" short of that, even if you rotate the pressure knobs out all the way. It was not hard to set up but the pictures in the instructions were very small and hard to discern the details. Since it did not fit and I did not want to send it back, I went out and bought some 4" long carriage bolts and rubber floor caps to jerry rig this into a gate that would stay put in my 37" opening. The photos I am showing here show the gate and the gaps with the original rubber grips fully extended. I will try to add later some pictures of the bolts and floor caps I had to add. There is no way this fits 37" and honestly you would be lucky to get it to fit a 35" opening. It might do it but it would be a little shaky because you have to extend the bolts out all the way. Then there is little left for the gate to hang onto. I really did want to give this a better rating but I am disappointed that the measurements and description were not correct, and that I had to go out and buy special hardware to make it fit.
