Instructions were very easy to follow. I love this idea and it fits perfectly for where we needed it. I question the durability though. I also am not a fan of the fencing used. It tears easily as it’s not hardware cloth. Any predator could easily get through this. We do plan to reinforce it soon, as winter approaches. I really like this run! If you don’t over stretchpull the chicken wire, you can get it nice and taught without waves and sags. I cut the chicken wire in 21 foot lengths, so that there was plenty on the outside bottom for cinder blocks or something to weight everything down. Excellent duck coop. Easy to set up with my grand childrens assistance. I added more layers of poultry wire and hardware cloth to the sides and top make break-ins more difficult. Also hardware cloth used as ground floor and apron covered with sod and then pine shavings. Placed the heavy duty XL anti-diggers around the perimeter. We have not had any intrusions in this set-up.. This cage was 'as expected', seems pretty sturdy and was pretty straight forward and easy to put together. Took a little time, I did it by myself, but all the screws and brackets seem solid. using it for a rooster that we need to keep away from the other roosters, so it fulfills our need--with one major flaw. Now, I knew this going in and we remedied it on our own with zip ties and chicken wire, but be aware that the only roof is the vinyl/tent top and that tent top will not keep out a raccoon or other eager predator in any way. We have a tiny 2 x2 coop inside this run that we can lock at night, but do add some kind of chicken wire under the canopy if you plan to rely on it for safety, which can easily be done before you put the canopy on. I wish it came with a secure roof, but from what I am seeing, none of these come with a solid roof, so this will have to do, and it seems to be working out for us.. Daniel. Bloomington, IN. Okay! SO- first time chicken owner here. We live in Maryland and are raising chicks and ducks from babies. We live in the woods and therefore have a ton of natural predators. The coop on its own is not SUPER sturdy, but not the worst quality I have seen and works well for a yard that slopes. There are some gaps, so we enclosed the top and bottom with hardware mesh stapled into the wood and secured with cement blocks just to be sure everything would be safe, and so far so good! The cover seems like it will be reasonable for the raincolder temps. Used Wayfair assembly service, which was good but it did take 3 men four hours to assemble just FYI. Overall, happy!. Anonymous. It was hard to find a long skinny run for the area I had to fill. This fit perfectly and was easy to assemble for two people. The chicken wire it comes with is very flimsy so be prepared to purchase additional hardware cloth to make this run predator-proof. I didn’t mind that because the price of this run was very reasonable. I wrapped the entire run in hardware cloth including underneath. Easy to put together, parts are labeled, directions good. I only had to redo the hinges on lid, placing them somewhat higher than I had them in order for lid to close properly. Added an automatic door, the coop is spacious for my five hens, the roosting bars stay seated. I stapled two layers of strong plastic to roof for easy cleaning as they like to sit up there. The only part a little tricky was placement of the hinge on the left for roof, I wish the screw holes were marked better. Absolutely love this chicken run! It took several days for my husband to put together, but it seems to be pretty sturdy material.
