I love how open it is. I kind of wish this one came with the step. Im not sure if the cats would use it, though. I already have one, and it has the front opening. My cats are both good size. This ones a little bit easier. I think for cats to go in and out of. Im not sure how long the bottom piece will last as it seems to be more material than hard plastic. I have had this now for about a month and I love it. I plan on getting another one and replacing the other one as they use this one most often. The other is the typical small opening and the waste draw is small and always needs to be adjusted as nothing falls forward and I can't find the right size bags, no company to order supplies from.. This is real furniture, not your average litter box here! What an addition to my midcentury family room. Nobody noticed it was a litter box cover, not even the cats! The instructions were step by step spot on and the assembly was very easy. But, I did use a traditional Philips screwdriver in some places where I needed more torque. My cat and I absolutely love this box! He is a 15 lbs boy so he needs his box to be large, especially because he's a "long" kitty rather than a chubby one. This one now is his favorite box and I think the reason is because it's open-top. At first I wasn't sure I wanted to see his business while walking past it, and that it would be so stinky because it's open. But after a month of testing it, it actually isn't bad at all. The stainless steel doesn't trap oders almost at all! Once I clean his mess, it's completely gone. No scratched floor, no plastic that holds on to any stinky smell, and it doesn't stain at all. Cleaning it is a breeze and nothing sticks to the bottom that requires scraping. Also I was worried that urine would leak out from the area where the top half connects with the base bin, but so far no issues. Unless your kitty sprays too high, I’m thinking this should work perfectly. It comes with its own scoop that can be hung to the side wall of the box as shown in the picture (although it isn't my preferred scooper as I like metal ones better). Nice and large but would not use for more than two cats. Very easy to assemble. The stainless steel bottom is somewhat thin. Was hoping for a heavier pan. However, the stainless steel will prevent the odor that occurs with plastic bottoms. While it does help with the scatter of litter, some litter will still come out the front opening. This should be expected. No way to prevent this completely. Started out without top off so cats could adjust. Will add top later and see how they do. Some cats do not like enclosed litter boxes. So far I'm loving this automatic litter box. It does a good job of separating waste and the waste bin is fairly large. It came with a box of 45 waste bags as well as a litter mat which was a nice bonus I wasn't expecting. Because it's open on the top, it never fully closes when working so there's no danger of a cat getting stuck. It also has sensors that I tested with my hands to make it stop if it detects something in the box while it's cleaning and the sensors worked well. This top entry litter box enclosure works perfectly for my space! I would recommend this product to others. The assembly was fairly simple, with most of the hardware entry points being reinforced. I am only giving the product four stars because the hardware that supports opening and closing of the box was not reinforced and quickly pulled loose. This was remedied with a little creativity, thankfully. A couple of positives to note….1.)The product is super easy to clean. It can quickly be wiped down with disinfectant wipes, and the opening along the bottom is very convenient when brushing out fur and litter debris. 2.)The enclosure supports various litter box shapes and sizes, and it does a great job of keeping dogs from tipping overstealing from the box.. There are two doors, one on top and one in front. The front door works both ways, the top door opens outwards. I did have to make sure the cover was snapped together properly so the front door didn't catch. The front is hinged to lift up further if needed for cleaning. I really appreciate the slots in the front of the box to catch litter back into the pan. It works well in conjunction with the stool to help prevent litter being scattered on the floor. I also like the scent absorber in the top. The holder for it will accommodate other scent absorbers when it needs to be replaced. It also comes with a stainless steel scoop that can be conveniently hung on the side of the pan. You do have to put it together when it comes in. Instructions are included. They are easy enough to understand and assembly is pretty straightforward. The cover is two parts that snap together with plastic tabs. Then the cover goes on the stainless steel pan and snaps on with side latches. You can undo the latches to take the top off if needed. I would give it zero stars if i could.. I buy almost everything online.. I can honestly say this is one of the worst purchases i have made. The box was heavier than a treamill i had to get two people to pick it up when i opened it the size doesnt even fit the litter robot .. the packaging was so bad when i tried to reassemble it i cut my hand from the sharp edges..
