I do love the design of this gate. It’s so tall that my kitties can’t go over, around, through, or under. I even like the way it opens to let me go through, without having to negotiate a bottom rail to trip on. It locks securely and was easily assembled and carefully packed. It’s attractive and exceptionally useful. My only concerns: My doorway was not true. It apparently is a few millimeters wider near the top than bottom, so the center doesn’t meet the same way in the top as bottom. This is not the fault of the gate, so I did not deduct a star. My other concern is that there’s a lot of plastic parts. I wish all the components were made of metal. This is likely not what many people are using this skate for, but were doing it to help socialize our wonderful new dog with my two cats, one of them is not very dog savvy. This is great. I was looking for a permanent solution to keep the dog from the front door and a way to separate the dogs from my niece when she visits. This is perfect fix. This is a sturdy barrier, that will help contain your pups in the cargo compartment of your SUV. It is easily assembled, and is pretty quiet during travel. Be sure to measure your cargo compartment to ensure proper sizing. I am convinced a determined dog can get through almost any barrier, but at least this one provides a solid deterrant for pups that are casually considering becoming co-pilots. The main issue with this, and most barriers, is that when assembled at the proper height (our cargo area height is 41”) there is a large (16” in our case) open space at the bottom of the barrier that could easily allow a mid-sized dog to get under the barrier. So if you have a smaller dog, you’ll have to come up with a way to block off that bottom gap to ensure your pup stays where you intend for it to stay.
