This is a sturdy barrier, that will help contain your pups in the cargo compartment of your SUV. It is easily assembled, and is pretty quiet during travel. Be sure to measure your cargo compartment to ensure proper sizing. I am convinced a determined dog can get through almost any barrier, but at least this one provides a solid deterrant for pups that are casually considering becoming co-pilots. The main issue with this, and most barriers, is that when assembled at the proper height (our cargo area height is 41”) there is a large (16” in our case) open space at the bottom of the barrier that could easily allow a mid-sized dog to get under the barrier. So if you have a smaller dog, you’ll have to come up with a way to block off that bottom gap to ensure your pup stays where you intend for it to stay. Looks good and fits right in with our home decor. The vertical bars are also a plus for preventing our sweet boy Max from climbing out. The con though is that the gate needs support to withstand the pressure from our little pup; it’s not great at freestanding. Also, the gate shows bite marks quite a bit.
