I love how open it is. I kind of wish this one came with the step. Im not sure if the cats would use it, though. I already have one, and it has the front opening. My cats are both good size. This ones a little bit easier. I think for cats to go in and out of. Im not sure how long the bottom piece will last as it seems to be more material than hard plastic. I have had this now for about a month and I love it. I plan on getting another one and replacing the other one as they use this one most often. The other is the typical small opening and the waste draw is small and always needs to be adjusted as nothing falls forward and I can't find the right size bags, no company to order supplies from.. The appearance of this is pretty, and the wood color matches the listing photo which is a relief. It's perfectly spacious inside, enough that I can put the litterbox in it plus my plug-in air purifier. There is enough room that the cats have to step out of the litterbox first and then exit, which also helps to decrease litter tracking. It is on the short side which looks odd on its own in a room, so I am ordering separate furniture legs to put on the bottom and lift it up slightly and help it to look more substantial. The fluted cabinet doors feel solid and more quality, but the cabinet overall is made from a rather soft/fragile MDF. It looks good from afar but it is clear that it's cheaply made once you get close which is a bummer. I will not be using the handles, as they're a rose gold and made of a cheap plastic. I am ordering better metal ones. It's going to serve our purpose as an inexpensive litter enclosure and is the best looking one I've come across so far after a long search, but I do wish the quality was a little better.. Charity. This is really a nice cabinet for my cat’s litter pan and I gave it five stars but while I was putting it together I realized the instructions were incorrect and it stated to use parts that were not right. I really like this litter box. It was easy to assemble and seems stable and sturdy and motor seems strong when the cycle runs. The size of the litter box is smaller than a regular box but is definitely large enough for a large adult cat. I actually appreciate the smaller size because the box has a smaller footprint and takes less litter to fill. The only thing I wonder about is how long the liner will last because it’s made of what seems like a canvas fabric (reminds me of the fabric of an outdoor pillow) and it seems like this might get smelly after a while.
