June 9, 2026 update: it's absolutely not leather but it is wearing fine. I took the made-to-be-removed inserts out, threw it in the bathtub with laundry soap and washed the soft inside fabric and it took vigorous scrubbing very well. Still recommend this seat. I have one in the front and one on the back. It wont let me do more than one photo in the app. At first I thought my dog was too big and tried it with the pillow put. Then after they kept coming out of it I put the pillow back and they loved it. And could 100 see out. Easy peasy and Im so happy I got them. Fantastic for our Honda Pilot! Regular store bought ones tend to be too small, lacking coverage for the entire seat width wise. This one has plenty of overlay. However, because of this, it does not go across the seat as shown in a taught fashion. It goes down into the legroom area. Works fine for our needs.
