The rigid outside givess full support while the flexible inner seat conforms better to an infant or child making it more comfortable. The harness secures your child safely in the seat. It's easy to hang with the adjustable ropes and metal clips. We had it hung up in our gazebo within a couple of minutes. What's really great is because of the flexible design, you can squish it basically flat and throw it in the car or even luggage to take to Grandma's house!
