When used in conjunction with a WS-2000 or WS-2902C the PM25 will help you monitor the Air Quality of your environment on AmbientWeather.net. Place the PM2.5 indoor/outdoor sensor anywhere in and around your home with the wireless PM2.5 particulate monitor. Although the sensor is designed to be outdoors, it is best to mount it in a well-protected area, such as under a patio or carport. Sends data to AmbientWeather.net where you can monitor and analyze the air quality. Send alerts. Works with Google Home and Amazon Alexa. Includes a solar collector and rechargeable batteries. A USB port allows you to charge the batteries where there is no sunlight. The sensor is a high-quality Sensirion Particle Sensor. PM2.5 refers to particles that are 2.5 microns or smaller in diameter. The high-quality Sensirion Particle Sensor uses laser scattering to radiate suspending particles in the air, then collects scattering light to obtain the curve of scattering light change with time. The microprocessor calculates equivalent particle diameter and the number of particles with different diameters per unit volume.

The base station is powered by a 5V 1.2A power supply, which the outdoor sensor requires 3 microcells (AA, recommend using Li-ion batteries). The base station can also be operated alternatively with 3 microcells (AAA, alkaline or Li-ion). Since previous settings will be reset when plugged out, we recommend installing the batteries for the base station. The batteries then serve as a backup e.g. in case of power outages or similar. (Please note: no AAA batteries can be charged with the device.)

Works very well. Needed for when I go out on my Harley, close by weather.. Alex. US. Sun Jun 15 2025
