The wax coating process makes the beehive strong, waterproof and durable Each hive is first soaked in a blend of our organic waxes that penetrate and protect the wood. After the first treatment, we lower these hives deeply into a pool of 100% natural beeswax. With waxed walls, your bees can comfortably make their new hive their new home. This double coat of wax also accentuates the fluidity of the wood grain, whereas paint would only mask its natural beauty.

Nice looking, but hive has 10 frames, and gap space between final frame and box is to large ~1" and could result in bees creating more comb to fill void. This was noticed in Deep boxes, and super. My boxes were constructed and were not squared, so don't sit square with ones below it, gaps may be filled with proprolis from bees and make it harder to get boxes apart. More experianced beekeepers would be able to adapt to differences, but to a novice it might be difficult to manage.. Anonymous. Thu Aug 06 2026

The honey keeper teardrop mason bee house will help attract solitary bees such as mason, nomad, leafcutter, and carpenter bees to your garden. Your garden will gain benefits from their pollination work, as well as look charming with your beehive on display. A mix of tube sizes in the beehive accommodates a greater range of bee species since most solitary bees prefer to lay their eggs in nesting chambers based on their body size. The nesting tubes are crafted from bamboo, a natural plant material that creates strong yet breathable nesting tubes for mason bees. Bamboo produces less condensation and mold than synthetic materials like plastic. The teardrop shape mimics the natural environment and shapes found in nature to protect a bee’s delicate wings from snagging and tearing on sharp corners and edges. The beehive can be easily and securely mounted with the handy rope to a tree, porch, or place in your yard. All that is needed is an area that receives a fair amount of morning sun and is shielded from wind and rain. Not only will this beehive do good to your yard but will make a great yard decoration as well! Dimensions: 5-3/4" wide x 4" deep x 10-1/2" high. Honey keeper makes top-quality beekeeping supplies to support all colony habitats and ensure longevity.
