I think this awning will work for areas that do not recieve High winds that will directly impact the awning. I inserted an aluminum 0ne inch wide three feet long bar under the center of the awning to give it more support. We get 60 mile an hour winds. Product is all plastic but it does look pretty good. Had to get special lag bolts (4inch 12inch diameter) as the hardware they sent didn’t hold it up - stucco wall - I put it over my terrace’s patio door. Also you need to install 1 panel at a time as it is impossible, even with 4 people, to line it up and hold it up when fully assembled per the instructions. It bends in every direction (even the arms are plastic). Gave up the first time. Then came back to it with new hardware and disassembled it and put it up panel by panel. One side appears a tad lower- maybe we didn’t measure, maybe it’s the plastic that warped from sitting on the terrace for a few days and through a storm before we had enough patience to try again. Now that it’s up, it looks pretty good overall. It will serve the job, and the backyard can handle the imperfection. I probably wouldn’t get again however.. Jen. Fort Lee, NJ. 2023-04-26 14:33:26

Wow what an inexpensive yet impressive facelift for our back door! This is a really nice alternative to the traditional fabric awning we had for years. The clear poly also allows the light to shine through while still protecting you and your door from the elements. The piece that slides over the poly at the tip of the awning is a matte silver color but my husband spray painted it black for a more cohesive look. Otherwise no install tweaks needed.. Suzanne. I bought two of these to go above two buildings in my back yard. As a carpenter, I couldnt build these for this price. They are a little flimsy when putting together, and I did put some extra self tapping screws in. They come in grey, but I painted mine black to match. You will need to put a bead of clear silicone caulk around the perimeter on top, to prevent leaks. As you can see in one of my pics, I only used half of one on one of my doors. To me, they were well worth the money, and after installation, they look fabulous on my buildings. Now if you live in an area of snow, this will most certainly not hold up in those conditions. Nice touch contemporary look against my old cedar shake vinyl . However this awning alone will not hold on its own so we had to remove the newer siding to expose it and reinforce. my husband had to double reinforce the area(double layer of 2 by 8 in between the studs )so the provided wooden lag screws will have enough support .
