This is by far the best market umbrella I’ve ever owned. I opted for the sunbrella fabric as it’s heavier than the other fabrics I’ve owned in the past (and did not last as long).This umbrella has a bronze colored pole and is operated by a hand crank although it does have an auto tilt feature. The auto tilt is amazing as you slowly keep cranking after the umbrella is fully extended, the auto tilt engages and the umbrella will automatically tilt. Once you start cranking in the opposite direction to close the umbrella, the auto tilt disengages and the umbrella stands upright so you can finish closing it. Thus is a superior umbrella. I have used them exclusively for years. The mechanism for lowering and raising it TOTALLY UNIQUE and absolutely superior to anything I've ever seen. There is a lever arm that raises the umbrella with one single move. The canopy can be raised in moments. Same thing for lowering it. Pull the pin and lower the "arm." It's down in moments. No cranks, no ropes, no sliding arms... Nothing. One bar raises and lowers it all with one move. I live in a canyon... and the winds can come up from zero to 40mph in seconds. No exaggeration. Great umbrella. Just what we’d been looking for to bring shade to a sitting area that faces the northwest…works out perfectly. My husband assembled by himself and he said it was easy…just took a little time. The only thing he didn’t like was the base that came with it. Once you filled it there would be no moving the umbrella around. So he stopped the final assembly had me order a different one on wheels that holds rocks. We used it for the first time and love it!.
